World Water Day is March 22nd, introduced after the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro.
The World Water Day on the – 22 March 2005 – marked the start UN’s International Decade for Action on water. The focus on water is essential: over a billion are without access to safe drinkng water, and growing population pressure and climate change threaten food supplies as well.
